Those pictures of Florida were awesome! i loved seeing how
everyone has grown Is that Addi and Brixton!?!?!? Wow i am getting old
and they are getting big haha. I'm also sorry that you have to associate
with those two hooligans that think that they are cool because they
flash gang signs, truly sorry ;) haha.
So this week i am trying a new tactic of writing
emails because half the time i get to the computer and draw a complete
blank on what i am going to write i decided to bring my journal and just
copy down what i write every night in it so we will see how that goes.
So Tuesday It was way hot.....and i mean WAY hot. It was like 102-103
with 78% humidity so that wasn't even close to fun, But we had Easton
Moyers come out with us so that is pretty cool. Easton is one.....well
the only priest in our ward, but he loves to come out with us whenever
he can and he is way funny and cool its awesome i love that kid. So we
tried by a bunch of potentials walking mostly because we are trying to
save up miles on the car so we don't go over this month, it was so hot,
did i mention it was hot. So we tried by the Bowman's who is a less
active in the ward and we have been trying to meet with them forever and
finally we got sister Bowman to answer the door but her husband wasn't
home so we just chatted with her for a bit and then she gave us bottles
of water, i then downed in about 5 seconds and wished us luck. we tried
by basically all of our potentials so what do you do if your potential
list runs out???? You find more potentials by tracting!!!!!!
Yay.....not, so we started tracting out this street where everyone was
giving the normal response and saying no we aren't interested, but then
we got to a house with two ladies and a whole bunch of kids who told us
to come in and sit down and they grabbed us some glasses of water which i
was very pleased by but then they told us that they were about to start
a youth class, i looked over at the magazine pile and noticed that they
were Ba' Hai' which is something that i have run into before in Moses
Lake, but know very little about, so they proceeded with the class, it
was very very interesting to say the least. They started off with a
prayer but their prayers are in this little prayer book that they have a
prayer for just about every situation which was very interesting. Now
apparently Ba' Hai' is very popular now because they believe that every
religion is right and that God or whatever they call him has manifested
himself in many different forms throughout the ages like Muhammad,
Jesus, Buddha, etc. you get the point. But now this new guy who is the
head of the Ba' Hai' is now the newest form of god and now the Ba' Hai'
have it right so whatever. Anyways stayed and watched them teach the
kids, its all really good stuff like be nice and treat others kindly so
its cool and so we talked about our religions and went on our way. Nice
people, wrong religion haha. But then after that we went and ate dinner
with the Anantutumula's they are so awesome they remind me of our family
so much just fun and crazy and mom always rolling her eyes at dad
hahaha its great. We talked about how we keep our thoughts clean by
filling our heads with good thoughts and so that they are already full
when bad thoughts come around they have no room to be in our head.
Interesting concept, but effective.
Wednesday was transfer day, it was a very sad day we
had to say goodbye to Elder Nelson, Elder Kupferer, Elder
Duana-Hammond, and Sister Christensen it was way sad day to say goodbye i
will miss them dearly. Then we had to take Elder Lewis for the day he
was Elder Kupferer's companion, that was very interesting, Elder Lewis
is well hes a good elder but as far as people go he doesn't quite know
how to interact with people, plus he has the white handbook and rules
down and has a very strict way of looking at the rules, where as elder
Layden's very lax look at the rules..........needless to say it was a
very interesting day. We did our regular routine except it was like 110
degrees outside ugh i was about to cry and went and tried by a lot of
people and got in with none, did some tracting no one answered their
doors (normal thing which is why i don't really write about it because
that's most afternoons) Then we had dinner in the Palisades with the
Riggs which is in our area but its like a 45-hour drive to get there
just one way so needless to day we don't really go our there very much.
But we drove all the way out there for dinner. It was very interesting
with Elder Lewis there, HE ATE BROTHER RIGGS FOOD! Yeah that was
awkward, but the ride was gorgeous and it is way pretty out there. Then
we came back and had a lesson with the Jessup's about prayer and the
Book of Mormon it was a good lesson. Then we went to meet Elder Lewis's
new companion and all of the new people in the valley. The y are all
pretty cool Elder Sherman who was with me in Moses Lake is now my Zone
Leader so that will be interesting. But it will be a fun transfer.
On Thursday it was crazy there are like 4 or 5 fires
around us and all of the smoke just settles int he valley so it was
raining ash and the smoke was horrible but the work continues. We
visited Johnathan and Maria and when we were talking and then Maria
started asking us all of these questions about the Mormon religion and
so that lead into us talking about the restoration and giving her a Book
of Mormon and so that was way awesome the spirit was way strong and so
hopefully we can have an official sit down and talk about it with
Johnathan and Maria. Then we went up to Waterville which was
surprisingly clear from all of the smoke, you could see the smoke over
Wenatchee from there though it was way weird to see it all it looked
like a dark cloud was over Wenatchee. But we went and visited the
Oberweisers which is a part member family up there and talked with
Sister Oberweiser for a bit then went over to the Hurds and had dinner
then talked about how Alan could recognize the spirit and listen to it.
On Friday we weekly planned FOREVER it was way to
long, then we had to go and change the oil on the Jeep so we called
Elder Benson the head of the vehicles in the mission, and he sent us to 3
different places to get our oil changed which didn't exist anymore so
we ended up going to Wenatchee and getting our oil changed and then
heading strait up to Entiat to eat dinner, then straight back down to
East Wenatchee to have a lesson with Traci, the lesson was awesome and
she is now on date for the 2nd of August im so excited that means that
we will have two baptisms on that day! Its great!
On Saturday we had a mini Zone Leadership Counsel
over a three way phone call to talk about goals and what we are going to
do with the zone and how we can help them achieve the goals we have set
for the transfer. Then we ended up tracting for like two and a half
hours it was miserable but the work goes on nothing really else went on
that day just walked around and got rejected alot but whatever haha.
On Sunday we had some awesome talks on how to be
grateful in our situations and not for our situations and how we can
have a attitude of gratitude in whatever we are going through it was
awesome and then we had a great talk on how Satan uses lures to try to
get us to sin and thinking that it is something good instead of
something that can kill us. We got home and tried by a whole bunch of
less actives but all of them weren't home so we went to dinner at the
Merrills, dinner wasn't done yet so we played jenga it was way intense
it got down to the point that Elder Layden didn't have any option but to
knock it down it was the best. Bishop Merrill is getting released on
the 3rd it will be interesting who gets called but Bishop has done a
great job and he will be missed, but Like Dad said he was burnt out , he
is right up there ha. So that was my week hope everything is going
great at home miss you all and love you!
